For New Zealand clubs

Football coaching for New Zealand clubs and volunteer coaches

Full football sessions filmed being coached, from First Kicks to elite, plus season plans and club-wide accounts for community clubs, volunteer coaches and club coaching leads.

In short: The Coaching Manual gives every coach at your club proven sessions they can watch being coached, then run with their own team. Volunteer coaches get support between NZ Football coaching courses, and clubs get one standard across every age group. Clubs from US$1,250 a year; individual coaches can start free.

Built for how New Zealand clubs work

  • First Kicks and Fun Football. Fun, game-based sessions for the youngest players, ready to run with set-up, timings and coaching points.
  • Volunteer coaches. Most junior coaches are parents with limited time. Every session shows how it's coached on video, so they're not guessing.
  • Junior and youth teams. More depth as players grow: possession, pressing, playing out from the back and individual technical work.
  • Club coaching leads. Share season plans and a club curriculum across every team, and see which coaches are using what.
  • Your season, your dates. Season plans fit your own calendar.

Just starting out? NZ Football's free CoachMate app is a good first step. Clubs use The Coaching Manual when they want more depth for every age group, video of every session, and one standard across all their coaches.

Support between coaching courses

NZ Football's coaching courses give coaches a foundation. Most of a coach's development happens afterwards, week to week with their own team, often with nobody to watch or ask. That's the gap we're built for: expert coaches to watch, copy and learn from every week, between one course and the next.

Every session is filmed being coached, so you see the set-up and hear when and how the coach steps in. It's the quickest way to pick up the part a written plan can't show you: the delivery.

"The videos explain what they're going to do, show the session, let you hear when the coach steps in, then explain what they did and why. As a brand new coach, that is invaluable."

Questions clubs ask

What's the best football coaching app for a New Zealand club?

It depends what you need. NZ Football's free CoachMate app is a good first step for new volunteers. If you want every coach working from proven sessions they can watch being coached, across every age group, The Coaching Manual is built for that. See our honest comparison of coaching apps.

Do you have sessions for First Kicks and Fun Football?

Yes. There are fun, game-based sessions for the youngest age groups, ready to run with set-up, timings and coaching points, and each one is filmed being coached.

Will the season plans fit a New Zealand season?

Yes. Season plans fit your own season dates, so they work whenever your season runs.

How does it help coaches between NZ Football courses?

Courses give you a foundation; most learning happens week to week with your own team. Watching experienced coaches deliver sessions, trying them yourself and reflecting is one of the most practical ways to keep developing.

How much does it cost for a club in New Zealand?

Club accounts start from US$1,250 a year. Individual coaches can start on the free Basic plan, with Standard at US$48 and Premium at US$84 a year. See our pricing page.
